C.A. Lawton's Commitment to Sustainability

The C.A. Lawton Co. has a long history of embarking on sustainability and environmental projects, programs and stewardship.

Our efforts have led Lawton to become the first Green Tier 2 foundry in the state.

Since launching the “Beyond Compliance” initiative in 2013, Lawton has ventured into various sustainability efforts and minimized the corporate impact on the environment.

The DNR’s Green Tier program empowers organizations to align their business objectives with environmental performance. Participation in Green Tier provides an opportunity to work with the DNR to take the next step on a path to sustainability.

C.A. Lawton first earned Green Tier 1 status in 2013. In 2021, Lawton was awarded Green Tier 2 status for its continued efforts.

Green Tier 2 status demonstrates a commitment to superior environmental performance, it also allowed Lawton to receive coverage under the exclusive Green Tier Registration Permit (ROP-G)

Other Efforts to be Stewards of the Environment

The C.A. Lawton Co. hasn’t just settled for the Green Tier 2 status.

The company also is ISO 14001: 2015 certified.

The certification is for environmental management systems (EMS). By following these standards set, Lawton can ensure they are taking proactive measures to minimize their environmental footprint, comply with relevant legal requirements and achieve their environmental objectives.

The ISO 14001 certification involves a wide variety of efforts from resource usage and waste management to monitoring environmental performance and involving stakeholders in environmental commitments.

Dedicated to a Sustainable Future

The C.A. Lawton Co. remains committed to paving a sustainable future, especially in the foundry industry.

Our efforts to divert waste streams from the landfill, raise environmental awareness among employees through training and encourage employee participation in community clean-up programs helps guide us down the path to sustainability.

Those efforts, plus being a member of the Wisconsin Sustainable Business Council, earning Green Tier 2 status from the DNR and obtaining our ISO 14001 certification helps Lawton stand apart and lead the charge for a more sustainable future.
