De Pere- Large Iron Casting
Producing large iron castings, 400 pounds - 20,000 pounds (30,000 pounds for low-volume requirements), and machined components on-site for five generations!
We make buying castings easier by helping you optimize casting performance with costs. We work WITH you to satisfy your end customer, aiming for a triple-win situation. Quality castings provide strength and design integrity for equipment in the most demanding applications in the world. Because of strict controls and adherence to the Lawton process, we’ve developed into one of the best large-casting iron and ductile iron foundries in North America. Attention to strict control ranges from careful selection of raw materials and maintenance of the very best melt practices to tight sand controls and documentation of processes and practices in the molding process.
We are both ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO 14001: 2015 certified.
Minster- Small to Large Iron Castings
Producing gray and ductile iron castings, 20 pounds - 45,000 pounds with two 35-ton holding furnaces.
Our Minster location produces gray and ductile iron castings from 20 pounds to 45,000 pounds. Our maximum casting size is 140 in. x 176 in. x 64 in. Minster operates two 1800KW line frequency 35-ton Ajax holding furnaces. We can produce 120 tons per day. Minster operates MagmaSoft solidification software ensuring our castings are of the highest quality, even the first time we pour them. Quality castings provide strength and design integrity for equipment in the most demanding applications in the world.
We are both ISO 9001: 2015 and ISO 14001: 2015 certified.
Pattern-Making
On-site and state-of-the-art pattern shops at both our De Pere, WI and Minster, OH locations.
It’s impossible to overstate the value of patterns to the success of the casting process. Patterns ultimately determine the shape and dimensional accuracy of the casting and contribute to iron integrity. Successful pattern design balances an intimate knowledge of the casting process, annual volume, investment, and material selection.
- Large castings can be produced from patterns (up to 150” square).
- Materials range from CNC foam for prototypes or single-use castings to multiple types of wood and urethane, depending on the application and the volume.
- Full solid modeling and metal-flow simulation services.
Engineering
A successful casting is the result of a close collaboration between the OEM design engineer and the foundry. Our cross-functional engineering and production team meets with the customer to discuss the part’s application, critical dimensions, and performance characteristics. The goal of this deep technical dialogue is to reduce the manufacturing cost of the casting, improve its castability, and meet the customer’s performance requirements. By applying best-practice tools like PFMEA, filling and solidification modeling, and control plans, we consistently produce affordable, high-quality castings that exceed customers' expectations.
