Life during COVID-19
Lawton has instituted new safety precautions and changes to minimize social contact amid the coronavirus pandemic.
Social distance is being practiced by the employees who have to be in the building. Everyone who enters is required to wear respirators and masks. During meetings of on-site personnel, respirators and social distancing are practiced.
Visitors need appointments and must call to notify the company before when they arrive. Temperatures are taken of both employees and all visitors before entering the facility.
Drivers of trucks who pick up or deliver materials now come to a window to exchange paperwork rather than entering the facility.
While the majority of employees are working in the facility, a number have the capability of working remotely from home. By utilizing tools such as Microsoft Teams, company meetings are still being held. Whether a large group reviewing an MDI board or a smaller team reviewing open quotes, virtual meetings have become a valuable option. It’s the next best thing to being there.
As always, Lawton puts people first. These changes are put in place to keep everyone as safe and healthy as possible. We look forward to more direct contact someday in the future. But for now, virtual reality will have to suffice.
The C.A. Lawton Co. wishes you all good health!
