Lawton named the first-ever foundry to achieve Green Tier 2 status
The C.A. Lawton Co. is proud to announce they have achieved Green Tier 2 status by the Wisconsin DNR. Compared to Green Tier 1, Tier 2 involves more rigorous participation requirements, emphasizing superior environmental performance. Lawton is the first foundry ever to achieve this level of sustainability.
The C.A. Lawton Co. began its Green Tier journey as a public demonstration of commitment to its ‘Beyond Compliance’ initiative in 2013. Since that time, the company has embarked on various sustainability efforts and minimized corporate impact on the environment.
“This is another tangible step in our decade-plus long Beyond Compliance program,” said Lawton Standard CEO Alex Lawton. “Partnering with the State of Wisconsin on this progressive and thoughtful program is fantastic. It’s a very intentional way for good actors like our company to be both recognized and rewarded and for the state to gain both environmental improvement and efficiency in its operations. A true win-win situation.”
Green Tier, and the philosophy behind it, has guided Lawton to make better choices by diverting waste streams from the landfill, raising environmental awareness through employee training, and encouraging employee participation in community programs like Adopt-A-Highway. Our customers care about sustainability and their suppliers’ integrity, which is why Lawton is focused on leading the industry in sustainability and cutting-edge business practices that respect limited resources. Lawton is proud to demonstrate that our performance reinforces their environmental awareness ideals.
